Weekly Art Classes for Children

Our weekly art classes give children the time and space to explore, experiment and develop their creative skills.

Through drawing, painting, printmaking, illustration and other hands-on projects, children are encouraged to look closely, try different approaches and develop their own ideas.

Classes take place during the school term in our garden studio in Cambridge.

Term dates

What will we do?

Each term includes a variety of projects and techniques rather than following the same format every week.

Children may explore:

  • Drawing and observational skills
  • Working with different materials and techniques: painting and colour, printmaking, illustration, clay sculpture
  • Developing ideas and personal projects

The emphasis is on learning through making. Children are encouraged to experiment, make mistakes and find their own ways of expressing an idea.

Over time, they can build both practical skills and a deeper understanding of how they like to make art.

Please note that there will be a 5-10 minutes short break during the 1.5 hour class.

Try a Trial Class

If your child hasn't attended Swallow Art before, a trial class is a great way to experience the studio before committing to a full term.

Trial classes are booked separately and are subject to availability.

Please note: There is one Trial Class place available per day. Each child may book one trial class.
