Terms & Conditions
These terms govern bookings made with Swallow Art Cambridge. Last updated: August 2026.
About these terms
Swallow Art Cambridge (“we”, “us”, “the studio”) is a small independent art studio based in Cambridge, UK, offering weekly art classes, creative workshops, trial classes and private art lessons. These terms apply to every booking made through this website for any of those services.
By making a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and any student you are booking for. If you are booking on behalf of a child or another person, you confirm that you have the authority to do so.
If you have any questions about these terms, please contact us at swallow.art.cambridge@gmail.com or at the address given in the “Contact” section below.
Booking & payment
Your place on a class, workshop or private lesson is reserved only once payment has been confirmed. When you begin a booking, your selected slot is held temporarily for five minutes to allow you to complete the form; if payment is not completed within that time, the hold is released and the place may be offered to another person.
Once your payment is received, you will be sent a confirmation email containing the details of your booking. Prices are those displayed at the point of booking and are inclusive of applicable materials unless otherwise stated.
We reserve the right to decline a booking where a class is full, where a student’s age or needs cannot be accommodated, or where accepting the booking would, in our reasonable judgement, affect the safety or quality of the class.
Cancellations & refunds
Private lessons. Cancellations for private bookings will be refunded in full if notice is given by phone or email at least 48 hours before the scheduled start time. If notice is given between 48 and 24 hours before the start time, a 50% refund will be provided. No refund is available where notice is given less than 24 hours before the start time.
Workshops, trial classes and weekly classes. These bookings are non-refundable. However, you may transfer your place to another person who meets the class requirements, provided you let us know in advance so that we can update our records and consent details.
If we cancel. If Swallow Art Cambridge cancels a class, workshop or lesson, you will be offered a full refund or a rescheduled date, at your option.
We may relax these cancellation terms on an individual basis at our discretion, particularly in cases of illness or emergency. To request this, please contact us as soon as possible.
Late arrival
Classes and lessons begin and end at the scheduled times. No discount or extension will be provided for late arrivals, and classes will finish at the scheduled end time. We recommend arriving a few minutes early to settle in.
Waiting lists
When a class or workshop is full, you may join the waiting list. People on the waiting list may be contacted when a potentially appropriate place becomes available, for example following a cancellation or the opening of a new class. Joining the waiting list does not guarantee a place.
Materials
All materials required for a class, workshop or private lesson are included in the price unless otherwise specified in the booking details. Any additional requirements will be communicated before the session.
Behaviour
We aim to provide a calm, supportive environment for everyone. A student whose behaviour disrupts a class may be asked to leave the session and may be denied the opportunity to attend future classes at Swallow Art Cambridge. No refund will be provided in such circumstances.
Parental & guardian responsibilities
For students under 18, the parent or guardian making the booking is responsible for ensuring the child arrives at and leaves the class safely. The parent or guardian must either drop off and collect the child themselves, or provide written consent for the child to arrive and leave unaccompanied, or to be dropped off or collected by a designated individual. The named designated individual must be agreed with the studio in advance.
Health information
Relevant allergies, medical information and special requirements must be provided when booking a class, so that we can plan sessions safely. Please keep this information up to date and let us know of any changes before the session.
Photography
Only individuals who have given their consent to be photographed will have their photos taken during class. Where consent has been given, photographs may be taken for the studio’s records, but any photograph featuring a person will not be posted online without additional, specific consent being obtained first.
Further details about how we handle photographs and personal data are set out in our Privacy Policy.
Complaints
We take all feedback seriously. Complaints may be sent by email to swallow.art.cambridge@gmail.com. We will acknowledge your complaint and respond as soon as we reasonably can.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date shown above reflects when they were last reviewed. Continuing to make a booking after a change indicates your acceptance of the updated terms.
